Objectives:
  • ·      To understand the most common phrases and vocabulary related to personal and family interests, e.g. going shopping, going on a trip, employment.
  • ·      To be able to ask for and give information, ask for and give a product, understand the weather, describe a place and talk about its climate.
  • ·      To read texts related to the topics; to be able to understand the specific vocabulary in simple everyday writings such as medical consultation, etc.
  • ·      To participate in conversations about interesting topics.
  • ·      To recognize the written form of the lexical unit and be able to write it.
  • ·      To have the ability to conjugate verbs in all tenses.
Contents:

Lexical-Semantic content:

Medical consultation; going shopping; clothe;, daily activities; vacations and free time; work and occupations; travels; hobbies; means of transport; nature; renting a house, accommodation; invitations; congratulations; celebrations; parties; food; Arab cities and towns, historical Arab personalities, immigration.

Syntactic contents:

Revision of regular and irregular verbs, study rest of the verbal forms and conjugations in present, past, future, imperative, indefinite, past perfect and imperfect tenses.

Gender and numbers, nominal and verbal phrase structures, transitive and intransitive verbs, dual and plural adjectives, simple and compound sentences, kana and its sisters, inna and its sisters, negation forms laisa and la, the comparative, the masdar.  

Phonological and orthographic contents:

Listen to conversations of native Arabs, neutral and expressive intonation.

Pragmatic contents:

Conversations on interesting topics, discussing health problems, understanding prescriptions and advices, giving advice and instructions, expressing probable action, sharing feelings of joy and sadness with others, talking about recent activities and actions, justifying yourself and apologizing, asking for help, giving or asking for information, accepting or rejecting an invitation.

Modality:

The communicative method will be followed, adapting it to the needs of this level and emphasizing the functional use of the language, transmitting the proposed communication objectives to the students. Oral and written materials will be used; tasks based on simulated real situations will be carried out individually, in groups and in pairs. 

Criteria:

At the end of the course, participants who have attended a minimum of 85% of the teaching hours and have passed the final exam will obtain a Certificate of Achievement. The rest of students will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon request.
