SCHEDULE: Courses scheduled for the 2020-2021 academic year can be checked in the attached document below, or alternatively, clicking here.

VENUES: Courses are offered in Avilés, Gijón (Viesques Campus) and Oviedo (El Milán Campus and Llamaquique Campus).

DATES: The duration of the courses is of 75 hours(courses on the Monday-Wednesday schedule go from 14th October 2020 to mid May 2021; courses on the Tuesday-Thursday schedule go from 13th October 2020 to mid May 2021), unless the number of local and academic festivities demands a short extension until the total of 75 hours are met. Each group has 85-minute sessions twice per week (Mondays and Wednesdays / Tuesdays and Thursdays). The maximum number of students per course is 25. The minimum required age to join a course is 17 years old.

TEACHING MODALITY: All courses are organized face-to-face, as has always been done at La Casa de las Lenguas and following a reminder in which, continuously, Mr. Rector insists on his public statements and within the community university: the University of Oviedo is a face-to-face university, not a distance education university. That said, we want to warn that, if as a result of what the health authorities of the Principality of Asturias and the university authorities could order, when the time comes, face-to-face activities at the University during some temporary period of the 2020-2021 academic year are disallowed, then the teaching would cease to be face-to-face and would immediately switch to the telematic mode when so dictated by the resolutions that the university authorities could issue, with the sole and main objective that the users of the provision of teaching services, that is, students, do not see their right to receive the corresponding linguistic training and for which they have paid the corresponding registration fee depleted in any way.

UNIVERSITY OF OVIEDO COVID-19 SANITARY PROTOCOL: Compliance with the health protocol established for the face-to-face teaching modality at the University of Oviedo will be strictly observed: 1 meter separation between student and student inside the classrooms, use of masks, intensive ventilation of classrooms between classes, hydroalcoholic gel available to users of La Casa de las Lenguas, and other measures that may be established by the competent authorities.

DIPLOMAS: Upon completing the course, the students who have attended at least 85% of the classes and pass the final exam will receive a Certificate of Academic Progress. The rest of the students will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

The active teaching staff of non-university level, as long as they are working in any centre maintained with founding by the Principality of Asturias and who has received the aforementioned Certificate of Academic Progress, will be able to request at the Council of Education, Culture and Sports the certification of 4.5 Credits of Lifelong Learning.
